April 1st 2002: Many things for me to tell you all! First of all, happy easter, happy April's fool, I hope you could play a few nasty tricks! Anyway, back to Jelena as she is playing in Sarasota this week.. you may read Glyn's preview here and Todd's weekly column here:) By the way, Jelena has also commited to play doubles as she and Elena Likhovtseva are the #2 seeds

April 2nd 2002: You can read Gerhard's preview of Jelena's first round opponent, Spaniard Conchita Martinez.. read it here. By the way, Jelena is scheduled to play her first round in doubles today..

April 2nd 2002: Congratulations to Jelena on reaching the second round in Sarasota with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Conchita Martinez. Dokic expressed that she was happy with the way she played, especially after trailing 5-3 in the second set... Next up for Jelena is either Elena Likhovtseva or a qualifier..

April 3rd 2002: A test this week as it was suggested that there be a second weekly chat added.. so you can come tonight at 9PM in London, or 3PM in New York or 3AM in Sydney! I hope to see a few of you there.. By the way, Jelena has a day off today in Sarasota..

April 4th 2002: Jelena will now face Anna Smashnova in her second round match as they will play the first match on centre court in Sarasota, Florida (USA). Later on, she will also play doubles..

April 5th 2002: Easy win for Jelena in Sarasota as she defeated Smashnova 6-1, 6-0 to advance to the 3rd tour where she will now face Patty Schnyder, read the preview here..

April 5th 2002: Jelena posted a good 6-1, 7-5 win today against Patty Schnyder in the quarterfinals and will now face either Virginie Razzano or Paola Suarez in the semis..

April 6th 2002: By the way, just wanted to mention that this website was mentionned in the german magazine "Tennis Magazin"! Many thanks to all of you who visit this page and make it what it is..

April 6th 2002: Great win for Jelena as she advances to the tournament final with a 6-3, 0-1 ret. win over Virginie Razzano who had to stop the match after suffering from an elbow injury...

April 7th 2002: Jelena won the finals at Sarasota against Tatiana 6-2, 6-2 ! She played great, and she won her first WTA title of the year..but certainly not the last, of course ! Jelena also won the doubles final, a 6-7, 6-3, 6-3 win with Elena Likhovtseva over Conchita Martinez and Ells Callens.. ! By the way, you might be interested in reading the post-match article of Jelena's match against Virginie Razzano made by Madonna, a first one for the newest staff member:). Also, the draw for the tournament in Amelia Island was released and Jelena, the #3 seed of the event has a bye in the first round but a possible matchup with Mary Pierce in the second round... see the whole draw here.

April 9th 2002: What we were all waiting for.. the latest Todd Spiker column, read it here:) By the way, a few things are not being updated on the site right now, this is a temporary measure so I can finish to implement the design as soon as possible and then work on fixing things and updating results, bio, etc:). By the way, Jelena will face Mary Pierce in the second round in Amelia Island.. and in doubles she is playing her first round today with Conchita Martinez..

April 10th 2002: Jelena and Conchita Martinez had to pull out of doubles because Jelena is apparently injured (she is still playing singles)

April 10th 2002: Well finally a new design on Jelena-dokic.com!:) I am still in the process of repairing many things and that process should go on for a week or so.. April 10th 2002: Jelena will face Mary Pierce in the second round of Amelia Island.. you can read Gerhard's preview here..

April 11th 2002: After rain delays, the match between Mary Pierce and Jelena Dokic was rescheduled to today...

April 11th 2002: The rain stopped and Jelena didn't lose time. In fact, she won 6-2 6-0 in only 38 minutes of play. She will next face the winner of Meilen Tu and Emmanuelle Gagliardi.

April 12th 2002: The rain gave a chance to Jelena to advance to the next level by beating Emmanuelle Gagliardi 6-3 6-4. She broke her opponent 5 times and now has a place in the next round.

April 13th 2002: Tough day! Jelena will be the first to compete this morning. She will face Elena Dementieva in quater finals. If she wins, she will have to play again today, facing the winner of the Farina Elia/Henin match up. No doubt she can do it!

April 13th 2002: Great victory for Jelena today, as she managed to come back from a very difficult first set and defeated Elena Dementieva  0-6, 7-6, 6-1 ! She will now face Justine Henin for her next match..

April 13th 2002: After one big comeback in the first game of the day, Jelena maybe didn't have enough energy to compete against Justine Henin... 2 hours after her first match. After losing the first set 2-6, she wasn't able to manage to finish the game. It's a shame the rain took so much space in this tournament, Jelena was on a great run.

April 14th 2002: After a day resting a little bit, Jelena will participate in the Family Circle Cup this week. She will benefit from a free pass in the first round.

April 15th 2002: Jelena is playing in Charleston, USA this week as announced yesterday and after a first round bye, she will either face Greta Arn or Anna Smashnova.. get the whole draw here.. By the way, Jelena dropped one spot in the rankings this week moving to #9..

April 18th 2002: Unexpected loss for Jelena as she was defeated by Anna Smashnova 6-1, 6-3...:(

April 21st 2002: Jelena will be playing in two weeks in Hamburg (I should be there all week with live reports!). According to the current list, Jelena would be the #4 seed in that event behind Venus Williams, Kim Clijsters and Martina Hingis..

April 22nd 2002: Jelena remained in the #9 spot this week in the rankings! By the way, it has been announced that Jelena was looking for a house in Belgrade now and will probably move there shortly with her family leaving her current residence in Florida..Thanks to Madonna for that info! April 24th 2002: Well I am now only a few days ago from leaving to Hamburg, site of the 2002 Betty Barclay Cup where Jelena will be competing as the #4 seed.. I will be able to send reports from there about Jelena's performances so let's hope things go well for her! By the way, things are still taking time but this week all the archived articles should be up and other sections (tennis results for example and multimedia) will also be repaired so that we can start working on the brand new features that will be added soon!

April 27th 2002: Today one more outstanding tournament preview by Glyn James, this time for the tournament in Hamburg, read his article here. I will be present to this tournament so I should be able to write some match reports in the next days...

April 28th 2002: Well I still haven't seen Jelena , so maybe she hasn't arrived at Hambourg yet. he will play against Anastasia Myskina in first round in Hamburg, so it should be an interesting match. You can check the draw here.
