December 31st 2005: The season's first draws are out and Jelena will play her first match in 2006 against Julia Schruff in the first round in Auckland!!

December 30th 2005: You can see a video of Jelena's arrival in Auckland here:) (it's not only about Jelena but still good!)

December 28th 2005: With only a few days before the start of the 2006 season, Jelena arrived in Auckland for her first tournament:) Read about it here!

December 23rd 2005: Well, the ASB tennis Classic played in New Zealand had a scare as they feared Jelena might withdraw from the event because of a visa problem of her coach Richard Palmer. But all is now sorted and Jelena is scheduled to arrive in Auckland on Wednesday!

December 20th 2005: Todd Spiker explores possible 2006 comeback players of the year in his WTA backspin column, read it here:)

December 19th 2005: Wow, talk about a positive week for Jelena!!! After her opening win, she posted a 7-6, 6-1 win against Shayna McDowell! Then, her third match was even better, as she won 6-1, 6-3 against !! And finally, she posted a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 win in her final match against Monique Adamczak to assure herself a main draw wild card for the 2006 Australian Open!!! By the way, I will be in Melbourne in January when Jelena plays in the Australian Open main draw first round, and will be reporting on her game:)

December 16th 2005: Jelena is indeed trying to get a wild card for the Australian Open. Thanks in part to her renewed desire to play for Australia, she was invited to play in a tournament that will give the winners a wild card! Good news as Jelena won her opening match against Beti Sekulovski 6-2, 7-6 (6). Dokic said she was happy with the way she played.

"It was good," said Dokic. "I was a little bit nervous, I haven’t played matches in a very long time.

"There is some things I could improve on but I expected not to play too well in the first match but I played better than I expected."

Jelena will face Shayna McDowell in her next match:)

December 8th 2005: Of course, controversy strikes, Jelena's possible wild cards in Australia, read about it here.

December 7th 2005: Well many of you will be happy if you look at the WTA rankings... no not because Jelena is now #349 in the world, but rather because she is now listed as the #11 ranked Australian player in the world! Let's just hope it's the first of many changes regarding Jelena's tennis:)
