December 31st 2005: The season's first draws are out and Jelena will
play her first match in 2006 against Julia Schruff in the first round in
Auckland!!

December 28th 2005: With only a few days before the start of the
2006 season, Jelena arrived in Auckland for her first tournament:) Read

December 23rd 2005: Well, the ASB tennis Classic played in New
Zealand had a scare as they feared Jelena might withdraw from the event
because of a visa problem of her coach Richard Palmer. But all is now
sorted and Jelena is scheduled to arrive in Auckland on Wednesday!

December 19th 2005: Wow, talk about a positive week for Jelena!!!
After her opening win, she posted a 7-6, 6-1 win against Shayna
McDowell! Then, her third match was even better, as she won 6-1, 6-3
against !! And finally, she posted a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 win in her final
match against Monique Adamczak to assure herself a main draw wild card
for the 2006 Australian Open!!! By the way, I will be in Melbourne in
January when Jelena plays in the Australian Open main draw first round,
and will be reporting on her game:)
December 16th 2005: Jelena is indeed trying to get a wild card for
the Australian Open. Thanks in part to her renewed desire to play for
Australia, she was invited to play in a tournament that will give the
winners a wild card! Good news as Jelena won her opening match against
Beti Sekulovski
6-2, 7-6 (6). Dokic said she
was happy with the way she played.
"It was good," said Dokic. "I was a little bit nervous, I haven’t played
matches in a very long time.
"There is some things I could improve on but I expected not to play too
well in the first match but I played better than I expected."

December 7th 2005: Well many of you will be happy if you look at the
WTA rankings... no not because Jelena is now #349 in the world, but
rather because she is now listed as the #11 ranked Australian player in
the world! Let's just hope it's the first of many changes regarding
Jelena's tennis:)
