June 29th 2005: Unfortunately, things did not go well for Jelena today, she was defeated 6-3, 6-1 against Eva Birnerova:(

June 28th 2005: Jelena should be playing her opening match in Fano tomorrow, good luck!

June 27th 2005: Just an update. After all, Jelena received a wild card to the main draw in Fano but she has a fairly tough first round, she'll face Eva Birnerova in her opening match.

June 24th 2005: Many were wondering if or why Jelena was not playing this year's Wimbledon tournament. Turns out that this year her ranking is not good enough to get into the draw. She was however offered a qualifying wild card but declined it. Impossible to say exactly why but she had said she needed to restart from the beginning which certainly makes sense. And it looks like it might happen as this weekend Jelena will be playing qualifying in a 75K challenger event in Fano, Italy.
