April 30th 2005: Jelena had talked about going back to the challenger level and playing smaller events. Well, she is playing a WTA event in Morocco this week, qualifying, and it is a very weak tournament. Imagine this...today, Jelena (now ranked #450 in the world) defeated Carolina Malheiros (ranked #963 in the world)....! But a win is a win right?:) Tomorrow she'll face #6 seed Vanina Garcia Sokol (#200 in the world).

April 26th 2005: Just one thing. Yesterday, it was not her opponent that Jelena did not shake hands with but rather the umpire. And also, Jelena will be back in action next week in Morocco:)

April 25th 2005: Oh no!:( Jelena suffered yet another loss, this time a 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 loss against Alyona Bondarenko in the Estoril first round.. Jelena was so upset after the match that she did not shake hands with her opponent. She also said she would perhaps return to challenger tournaments tu turn things around...

April 24th 2005: Jelena is actually back in action this week as she is playing in Estoril:) In her opening match, she will face Alyona Bondarenko! Good luck Jela!!!!

April 12th 2005: Happy birthday Jelena!!!! She turns 22:))) May this new year bring success and happiness for Jelena:))
