February 22nd 2004: Jelena is now back in action, she is scheduled to play in Dubai, you can see the draw here. In her first match, Jelena will face Petra Mandula!:)

February 15th 2004: It is now confirmed that Jelena will not play in Antwerp, a well deserved rest after a good tournament and a long trip from Tokyo to Paris. She now heads to Dubai and Doha, her two next tournaments. Also, you can now read a very well written article about Jelena's loss against Bovina here.

February 12th 2004: Jelena was defeated today in her first match in Paris, a three set loss to Elena Bovina...

February 11th 2004: Jelena will be playing her first match tomorrow in Paris as she is scheduled to play the last match of the day on centre court, against Elena Bovina!

February 10th 2004: Jelena must be really happy with the schedule she got (giving her time to rest her injury) as she will be playing her first match on Thursday only! Jelena will face the winner of the match between Elena Bovina and Anabel Medina Guarrigues...the match will be played tomorrow.

February 8th 2004: Jelena is now in Paris, scheduled to play the Open Gaz de France as the #4 seed, she has a first round bye. You can see the full draw here.

February 7th 2004: Jelena was crushed in Tokyo today losing 6-1, 6-0 against Lindsay Davenport, she will now head to Paris to play the Open Gaz de France.

February 6th 2004: WOW! Jelena will have her first big test tomorrow in Tokyo as she will face American Lindsay Davenport , you can read a preview here

February 6th 2004: WOW! Jelena played her best match thus far in 2004, defeating Tatiana Panova 6-1, 6-1 in the Tokyo quarterfinals! With this win, Jelena will be #15 on Monday! Up next, she will face Lindsay Davenport or Daniela Hantuchova!

February 5th 2004: Jelena faces another test in the quarterfinals as she will face Russian Tatiana Panova, see a preview here

February 5th 2004: Jelena once again needed 3 sets but she did prevail with a 7-6, 6-7, 6-1 win over Janette Husarova. Thanks to this win, Jelena will improve to #16 in the singles rankings. In the quarterfinals, Jelena will face Tatiana Panova!

February 4th 2004: Jelena certainly did not have things easy but she escaped with a 3-6, 7-6, 6-1 win to open her 2004 year! In her next match, Jelena will face Janette Husarova!
