June 30th
2003:
Jelena did say in her last press conference that she would
now rest a little and then start training very soon for the hard
court season, that should start in Stanford at the end of July.
June 28th
2003:
Unfortunately, Jelena's doubles tournament also ended today
as she and Nadia lost 6-3, 6-0. By the way, you can read

June 28th
2003:
Jelena's singles journey ended today with a loss to the new
Wimbledon sensation, Russian
Maria Sharapova,
a 6-4, 6-4 loss.
June 27th
2003:
Things get more serious now as Jelena is one match away from
week 2 of Wimbledon. Tomorrow, she will play the first match on
court #1 as she will face Maria Sharapova, you can read a

Then, a bit later, she will play doubles on court #3!

2003:
Jelena advances to the third round with a
6-1, 6-3 victory over Emmanuelle Gagliardi ! She should have an
impressive third round match, as she will face
Maria Sharapova !

2003:
Good news, Jelena and Nadia won their doubles match 6-2, 6-1
and will now face Vento-Kabachi and Widjaja. As for singles,
Jelena will be playing the third match on court #4, see the

2003:
Great news as Jelena was able to advance to the second round
in Wimbledon with a 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 win over Elena Baltacha. She
seemed pretty happy with her performance as you can see in her
post-match comments
here. Also,
our own Glyn James was at Jelena's match and sent his comments
that you can read
here. Jelena will now play her second match Thursday as
she will face Emanuelle Gagliardi. And finally, Jelena and Nadia
are scheduled to play their first round in doubles tomorrow, on
court #19 (the fourth match).

Well you can expect a crowd tomorrow as Jelena will be
playing the opening match on court #13 in Wimbledon, go Jela!

By the way, Jelena and Nadia Petrova are back together in
Wimbledon as the #6 seeds. They will face
Ashley Harkleroad
and Tatiana Perebiynis in the first round.

The draw for Wimbledon was released today, you can see it
here. Jelena will face Elena Baltacha in the first
round.

Shocking loss once again as Jelena lost 6-3, 6-1 against
qualifier Saori Obata... On a more positive note, Jelena did
finally decide to fire coach Heinz Günthardt and replaced him
with Croatian Coach Barna Bikic, surely a good move considering
Jelena has had the worse season of her career so far...

Congratulations to Jelena who did not have things easy but
still managed to post a 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 win over Rita Grande in
her 2nd round match in Vienna!:) She will now face Paola Suarez,
