January 31st 2003: Well I think many of us expected unfortunatly that Jelena would have a bad loss to start 2003, as she starts the season later than everyone.. And it happened today as she lost 6-4, 6-2 against American Lisa Raymond in the quarterfinals of Tokyo!:( By the way, you can read the post-match press conference transcript from Jelena's first match (against Widjaja) here. Also, Jelena and Nadia Petrova lost their second round in doubles, read an article about it here..

January 30th 2003: You can read Jelena's quarterfinal match preview here as she will face Lisa Raymond. The match is sceduled to be played on centre court (the 3rd match) starting at 1PM. She will also play her doubles quarterfinal match also today, against T. Krizan and K. Srebotnik (SLO). The match will not start before 5pm local time which is midnight in L.A., 3pm in New York, 8am in London and 9am in Belgrade.

January 30th 2003: Wow, Jelena made quite a comeback in her 7-6, 6-4 win over Angelique Widjaja, more details will be available here shortly..

January 29th 2003: The schedule for tomorrow in Tokyo is now available, Jelena will be playing the second match on centre court after the one between Farina-Elia and Tanasugarn.. you can check the message board for more details about the exact time and then perhaps join our chat during the match:)

January 28th 2003: Jelena now knows her first opponent in Tokyo as she will face Angelique Widjaja who had no problems in her first match today... The match will be presented on Thursday, more details soon!

January 27th 2003: By the way, as ironic as it may sound, Jelena improved to #8 in singles today without even playing in the Australian Open..

January 27th 2003: As we are Monday, it's time again for another edition of "Jelena's corner" by Todd Spiker, read it here. Also, Jelena will be teaming up with Nadia Petrova in doubles as they will be the #4 seeds. In the first round they will face Dementieva and Farina-Elia. By the way, Jelena will probably not play her first singles match before Thursday..!

January 26th 2003: It's about time! Jelena will finally start off her 2003 season as she will be the #2 seed in Tokyo next week, you can see the full draw here! After a first round bye, Jelena will face either Angelique Widjaja or a qualifier.. We will soon have some preview here..
