Hi Jelena Fans, Mark here with this weeks feature article

Is Jelena (QOT) Queen Of Tennis Playing to much tennis??

Our beloved Jelena lost her semi final against up and comer Anastasia Myskina today and I personally think she is playing to much tennis. I mean Myskina is a good player but Jelena in the rankings currently holds 30 tournament points, which is nearly twice as many tournament points as the Williams sisters, who are currently number one and two in the world. This fact is amazing, as Jelena has missed 4 tournaments due to injury her right thigh. Jelena is an awesome player when she is not injured and I think that Jelena next year needs to look at her schedule and plan more wisely and she needs to account for burnout.

Jelena is currently number 4 in the rankings only a couple of hundred points behind Capriati if she does have three or four good weeks she will catch Capriati and be number three in the world. Although Jelena is defending next week in Tokyo she has a real chance to win. This final section of the year is where Jelena made up about 1000 points last year and she will have to work hard again to defend those points but will it come at a cost? Jelena needs to slow down; as she is only nineteen she has the capacity to dominate women’s tennis for the next of ten years.

Jelena reminds me as a young Mary Pierce and we all know her story, two grand slams excellent tournament victories and a player back on the move. I have followed Jelena’s career for the past five years and I have seen her develop and mature in leaps and bounds and I think that Jelena in the next five years will be a player to watch.

I hope you enjoyed reading this article as much as I have enjoyed writing it hopefully you will hear from me again.
