Looking ahead in Linz

A few days into the tournament currently played in Linz, Jelena has a break today which gives us a chance to look ahead at her chance to win a fourth title this year..

Next up for Jelena will be American Alexandra Stevenson. Thye have only played ce in their career and that was over two years ago in the Wimbledon quarterfinals. No need to say how things have changed since that happened. When Stevenson won that match, media were discussing which one of the two or Mirjana Lucic had the best chance of getting to the top of women's tennis.

Since then, there's been no debate as Jelena is now ranked in the top 10 while the two others are still struggling to establish themselves as top players on the tour...

In the semifinals, Jelena would face Iroda Tulyaganova or Elena Dementieva (unless Panova causes major surprises)...Both players although they would provide good matchups, certainly would be within Jelena's reach...

So, in the final, it is pretty sure that Jelena would face Lindsay Davenport who is playing outstanding tennis right now.. I actually think it would be a good idea, it would be interesting to see how Jelena can improve from last week's performance.
