Jelena will face American Chanda Rubin in the second round of the Swisscom Challenge, certainly a tough opponent but one Jelena should be able to defeat.

Chanda Rubin is currently ranked #36 in the world although most would consider her more dangerous than a few top 20 players. True ? Sure! For Jelena ? Not a chance! The way Jelena has been playing lately, she is currently having problems with power players such as Seles, Davenport and the Williams sisters.

Rubin is more of a volleyer and certainly will have a hard time coming into the net against a very strong and confident Jelena who has some of the best groundstrokes on the tour at the moment.

Historically, they have played only once, that being in an exhibition tournament at the start of 2001, a match that Jelena won when Rubin withdrew due to injury, Rubin was leading 6-3, 1-4 at the time....

So let's hope things go well, personally I am not very worried although no player is to be taken lightly...
