Hingis withdraws leaving draw wide open

While it is never good news to see an opponent get injured, it certainly will make life easier for Jelena at the Swisscom Challenge in Zurich, Switzerland.

Martina Hingis was playing her semifinal match yesterday in Filderstadt when she twisted her ankle causing her to withdraw from that match (and lose #1 spot at the same time) and from the tournament in Zurich. Sandrine Testud now takes Martina's spot at the top of the draw making her a possible semifinal opponent for Jelena, certainly an easier match than a matchup with Martina.
