JELENA...Firsts & Lasts
by Todd Spiker
|
|
The Fair One is still waiting (and, hopefully,
preparing) on the WTA sidelines, for who knows how much
longer. But the Corner pokes its head out, ever so
slightly, in anticipation of Jelena's future return to
action.
Ever wonder when was the first time Jelena did
something on the court, or when was the most recent time
she did? Well, have no fear. Here's another of the
Corner's time taker-uppers to provide the answers to those
potentially wild speculations before they have the
opportunity to come up in anyone's conversations.

==DAY ON EARTH==
April 12, 1983 (a Tuesday)
As of August 13, 2004... that's 7797 days, and counting.
While the target date for the Fair One's long-awaited
return to the WTA tour is unclear, the Corner will
continue to maintain a vigil on JD.com. Even if Jelena's
not in action, keep checking back here for more special
statistical columns, an in-depth look at Jelena's junior
years and, of course, the (not quite as) long-awaited
SECOND Jelena Quiz.
All for now.
