US Open:

Jelena will face Emmanuelle Gagliardi in her opening match of the US-Open
2003, and as i have just written an article about Emmanuelle during the
Wimbledon tournament i had the stupid idea to write down what the speakers
could say befor the match:

Ladies and Gentleman. May I introduce you the two players on court:

On the right hand side you see Emmanuelle Gagliardi from Geneva in
Switzerland. Emmanuelle is the current no 61 of the world which makes her
the proud no 3 of her country.

"Manu", as she likes to be called by her friends, is 27 years old, 1.71
meters tall, a righthanded player and prefers to play on rather slow courts.

This year she reached the second round of Roland Garros as well as at the
Australian Open. Further she reached the semifinal of Auckland and Estoril,
the quarters of Madrid and the fourth round at Indian Wells.

That most beautiful of all women you see there is named Jelena Dokic! Jelena
is 20 years old, 1.73 meters tall, and likes to play on all courts.

The no 23 of the world and no 1 of her homecountry Serbia and Montenegro has
won the tournaments of Rome, Tokyo, Moscow, Eastbourne and Sarasota. This
year she reached the semifinal of Warzaw, and the quarterfinals of Tokyo,
Paris, Key Biscane, Charleston, Vienna and Stanford.

Jelena beat Emmanuelle already 5 times and only at their first meeting the
match lasted three sets.
