Host Peter M Reichel fixed a contract with the recent no11 of the world, Jelena Dokic, to play at the $170.000 Tournament in Vienna Hohen Warte from 7th June onwards. The 20 year old star from Serbia-Montenegro fits perfectly into the players field of the young and wild ones of the tennis circuit, who will fight for the 27.000$ price money the winner claims.

Next to Dokic 4 other top players of the WTA signed for Vienna. The only 18 year old French Open Quarterfinalist Vera Zvonareva, the winner of Vienna 2001, Iroda Tulyaganova (21) the argentinian clay court specialist Clarisa Fernandez (21) und the US-starlet Ashley Harkleroad (18). "The fans will get the chance to see the players this year at Vienna who will dominate the WTA tour in the future", tournamentdirekto Sandra Reichel sayed.
