The Dynamic Duo is Back Again

Jelena Dokic and Nadia Petrova are finally playing together again. After a few months of absence due to Nadia's injury, Jelena and Nadia are finally teamed up again, much to the crowd's enjoyment.

They went on the court today to play against Trudi Musgrave and Abigail Spears of the United States of America. Abigail, a very aggressive sever and volleyer, an up- and- coming tennis player, and Trudi, a player that still has to say a lot on doubles tour were a very interesting combination, that could at least test Jelena and Nadia's form in today's match.

Trudi Musgrave and Abigail Spears never really hit their peak and seemed sluggish throughout the first set. While Dokic and Petrova set up successful doubles' strategies point-by-point, Musgrave and Spears maintained little communication. As a result of that, Dokic and Petrova won on 83 percent of their first service points.

Even Spears would serve more consistently in the second set, with a 72 percent first serve, her service alone could not carry the team into a leading position. On Dokic's Service, Petrova would hug the net, one foot in each service box. Crouching down, she would plan her next move, sometimes psyching her opponents out by keeping still, and other times poaching their returns for a quick winner.

On the other side of the court, Musgrave kept in close proximity to the net throughout the second set, while Spears stayed in the backcourt. Dokic and Petrova would waste no time, however, smacking overheads and chipping light-as-air drop volleys. They worked out the points really well, and even fighting for everything, even the score was well on their side. They moved well together throughout the match, covering most of the court and anticipating each other's next move. Jelena's ability to hit unreachable forehand winners - especially off short second serves - continued to give problems to her and Nadia's opponents, leaving the opponents for dead, point after point. Jelena Dokic and Nadia Petrova defeated Trudi Musgrave and Abigail Spears 7-5, 6-1.
