July 1st 2002: Jelena is currently playing against Daniela Hantuchova as of the time I am writing this, she lose the first set 6-4, and is leading 4-2 in the second but the match has been stopped due to rain..

July 1st 2002: Unfortunately, Jelena lost today her match against Daniela Hantuchova today (6-4, 7-5). It was a very close match, and Jelena was able to save a few match points, but Daniela managed to hold her serve at 6-5 and ended the match.

July 5th 2002: Jelena should normally be taking a break for a couple of weeks before heading to USA to start her hard-court season. Her schedule for this summer so far is:

Stanford - July 22
San Diego - July 29
Los Angeles - August 5
Montreal - August 12
New Heaven - August 19
US Open - August 26

You read right, 6 consecutive tournaments... hopefully Jelena will take a break if ever she gets too tired!

July 8th 2002: Jelena improved one position in the singles rankings this week to #6 in the world!:) More details soon in Jelena's corner by Todd Spiker!

July 18th 2002: Big thanks to Vutt who searched and found a short interview done after Jelena's win in Moscow last year, read it here. Also, I added gallery #69 today, all photos from this year's Wimbledon. Finally, I got two videos done by Stephen today added in the multimedia section, thanks:)

July 19th 2002: I had a look at the stats for June and just saw that for the first time, Jelena-dokic.com had over 100,000 visitors in one month, many thanks go out to all of you and to the staff members, Todd, Gerhard, Evert, Glyn, Matt, Stephen, etc:)

July 20th 2002: The draw for Stanford was released today and Jelena will play her first round match against Amy Frazier, from USA. They have faced each other one time and Jelena won that match (6-2, 6-2 in April 2000)

July 21st 2002: Today you can read a tournament preview for next week's tournament in Stanford writte by Todd Spiker, the Anna Smashnova preview should follow soon:)

July 21st 2002: Wow, another great preview, Gerhard wrote a preview to Jelena's first round match against Amy Frazier!:) The match should apparently be played on Monday..

July 22nd 2002: Interesting choice as Jelena will be playing in doubles in Stanford with Tamarine Tanasugarn.. On another note, Jelena will be playing at 7:30PM on court #1 her singles first round match..

July 23rd 2002: Good start for Jelena in Stanford as she won her first round match yesterday evening, a 6-3, 7-5 win over USA's Amy Frazier:) Next up, she will face Conchita Martinez. Jelena has 4 wins in 9 matches since Conchita but those were the last 4 matches including 3 times this year:)

July 23rd 2002: Ok, a few things in this update! First off, Jelena will be playing doubles tomorrow evening in Stanford as she and Tamarine Tanasugarn will face Lee and Prakusya in the second evening match on centre court. Also, Todd Spiker because he had made a small error in his article, Jelena is not 92 pts behind #5 spot (held by Clijsters) but rather 1, after the updated rankings came out.. So good luck Jelena! And finally, I added gallery #70 with photos from Wimbledon and from Sopot 2001, yes you read write, I received them a long time ago but I had lots of catching up to do:) Anyway, 10 more will come in the next days! Sorry for making you read all this, if you have not read the previous update, do it now, Jelena won:) Just below:)

July 24th 2002: Congrats to Jelena who won her doubles match yesterday evening in Stanford with Tanasugarn against #4 seeds Lee/Prakusya 7-6, 6-3.. By the way, Jelena is scheduled to play her singles match against Conchita Martinez at 1:30PM, Pacific Time tomorrow...By the way, I added 10 more photos from the 2001 Sopot tournament in the gallery #71.

July 25th 2002: Jelena won her second round match against Conchita Martinez 1-6, 6-0, 6-1 yesterday in Stanford and will now face Lindsay Davenport in the quarterfinals...

July 26th 2002: Jelena and Tamarine Tanasugarn were eliminated in doubles yesterday by Conchita Martinez and Janette Husarova, a 6-2, 6-3 match... Jelena will now face Lindsay Davenport in the quarterfinals, preview will be online very soon!

July 26th 2002: Sorry for the delay everyone, Gerhard and I had technical problems getting the preview on here.. well here it is!:)

July 26th 2002: Not sure what happened exactly but Jelena was destroyed 6-2, 6-2 today in Stanford by Davenport!:(

July 26th 2002: The draw for next week's tournament in San Diego is out and Jelena will face Gala Leon Garcia or Alicia Molik in the second round after a bye in the first one, check the whole draw here.

July 29th 2002: Jelena will be playing in doubles in San Diego with Kim Clijsters! They will face Elena Dementieva and Janette Husarova in the first round!

July 29th 2002: Jelena is scheduled to play her first match in San Diego tomorrow as she will face Gala Leon Garcia in the second match on centre court.. Later on, she will play doubles with Clijsters on court 11..

July 30th 2002: Jelena posted a 6-2, 7-5 win over Gala Leon Garcia today to advance to the third round in San Diego where she will now face Anastasia Myskina!

July 30th 2002: Jelena and Kim Clijsters were eliminated in the first round of doubles today against Dementieva/Husarova 7-6, 4-6, 4-6!

July 31st 2002: Jelena is scheduled to play the second match on centre court tomorrow evening against Anastasia Myskina in San Diego (which is around 9PM pacific time, or 5AM GMT)
